The short version

Haunt & Hedge is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means for you

• It costs you nothing. The price you pay is the same whether you reach the retailer through us or type the address yourself. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your total.
• It does not change what we recommend. Picks are made against the criteria published on each page and on our editorial policy page.
• Some of our links earn nothing at all. Several of the most important products in this category — the twelve-foot skeleton, its taller rival, the warehouse ground-breaker — are retailer exclusives we have no commercial relationship with. We link them anyway, because telling you only about the products that pay us would make this site worthless. Those links are labeled on the page as non-earning.

How the links work

Product links on this site route through a redirect on our own domain before going to the retailer. That lets us change where a link points if a product is discontinued or a better buying route appears, without rewriting the article around it. It also means every earning link carries the standard sponsored nofollow markup search engines expect.

Every page that carries an affiliate link says so above the first link, not only down here in the footer.

Prices

We do not publish product prices in our own words. Prices render only from a live data layer with a date attached, and when no live price is available the page says “check price” instead of showing a number that may be out of date.

Prices and availability come from the retailer and change constantly. Whatever the retailer shows you at the moment of purchase is the real price — not anything on this page.

What we do not do

• We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
• We do not sell placements, rankings or “sponsored picks”.
• We do not manufacture urgency. No countdown timers, no “only 3 left”, no invented sale deadlines — we have no stock data and inventing it would be dishonest.
• We do not publish star ratings, review counts or testimonials for products or for this site.

Analytics

We record when an outbound product link is clicked, in aggregate, so we can tell which recommendations readers find useful. That is click counting, not personal profiling — the privacy policy has the detail.
