Who we are

Haunt & Hedge is a publication operated by Iron Mako Media. You can reach us at mike@blackironathletics.com.

What this site does not do

Stating this first, because most privacy policies describe collection that never happens:

• There are no user accounts, so there is nothing to log into.
• We do not sell anything directly and never handle payment details.
• We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
• We do not operate a newsletter or a mailing list.
• We do not run advertising networks or behavioral ad targeting.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which recommendations are useful. It records things like the pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how visitors arrived. We also record, in aggregate, when an outbound product link is clicked.

We use this to decide what to write and what to update. We do not use it to build profiles of individuals, and we do not combine it with anything else. Google processes this data under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Browser settings, extensions and tracking protection that block analytics all work normally on this site.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are sent to us by email so we can reply. We keep the message as long as it is useful to the conversation, and we do not add the address to any list.

The form includes basic anti-spam checks: a hidden field bots fill in and humans do not, a timing check, and a per-address submission limit. None of this collects anything beyond what you typed.

Affiliate links

Product links route through a redirect on our own domain and then to the retailer. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy — Amazon’s applies from the moment you arrive on Amazon. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from any retailer, only aggregate reporting about referred purchases.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics may set cookies as described above, and retailers set their own once you follow a link to them. Blocking or clearing cookies does not affect how this site works.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request data such as IP address and user agent in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. That is ordinary web hosting, handled under Vercel’s own terms.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

• Block analytics in your browser, at any time, with no loss of function.
• Ask us what contact-form correspondence we hold from you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address above.
• Decline retailer cookies through that retailer’s own controls.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described rather than quietly substituted.
