If you want one thing people see from the car

Buy the big-box giant. Nothing Spirit sells competes with twelve or fifteen feet of silhouette at distance, because that is not what its product line is for. Home Depot's Skelly, or the Lowe's fifteen-footer if your street already has Skellys on it.

If you want a scene on a porch

Buy the specialist. Character detail, licensed figures and scene-building props are where Spirit's range is genuinely stronger, and a porch is a close-range viewing environment where that detail actually lands. A giant on a porch is a giant you cannot fit on a porch.

If you want horror-fan recognition

Buy the licensed figure, and know what you are paying for. A licensed character buys instant recognition from people who know it and nothing mechanical. That can be exactly the right purchase — recognition is a genuine effect — but do not expect the movement to be better than an unlicensed figure at the same tier.

If your yard is small, windy, or your garage is full

Buy the wide ground-breaking giant. It is the format that solves the constraints the other three ignore, and on the specifications that matter to a constrained yard it beats both flagship approaches.

Availability is the practical difference
